Day 5: Playful and Progressive Copenhagen
A Walking Tour
Today started with a walking tour from 9:00 am until noon. Our guide, Paul, was very informative. An interesting fact that we learned was that it is illegal to advertise for pharmaceuticals or politicians. That seems so foreign to what we see on United States TV. We got a closer look at the recycling plant with the ski hill built onto it--such unique architecture. We saw the changing of the guard, some backyard courtyards, and more. |
A Canal Ride and a Park
After our tour and some lunch, we caught a canal ride for an hour. That was really interesting and relaxing. Christiana is a part of town with hippies and free drug use. We boated by that area as well as other parts of town. After the boat ride, we walked to Tivoli park. It’s the amusement part that supposedly inspired Walk Disney to make Disneyland. It's quite different from the amusement parks of the United States. We stopped for pizza on the way back to the hotel. |
